Founded in 1968, the Centre is jointly owned and operated by St Chad’s Anglican and by Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic parishes. The two congregations have their own clergy and service times, but worship space, gymnasium and classrooms are shared. Just off of the joint worship space, each congregation has a small chapel which reflects the heritage of their denomination. On occasion there are joint worship and social activities.
In July 2011, St. Chad’s decided by congregational vote to leave the Assiniboia Christian Centre. The process of dissolving the partnership will take some time to complete.
